Eldran (エルドラン,Erudoran?) is the shining guardian of Earth who from ancient times has protected it from all sorts of threats, typically giving giant mecha to elementary school children so they can use it to help him battle against the many enemies of the Earth.
The beginning of Eldran entrusting robots to children of the Earth. When the 5th dimension's Jaku Empire set their sights on conquering the 3rd dimension, particularly the Earth, Eldran came piloting Raijin-Oh to stop them from firing a missile filled with Akudama to the Earth. Belzeb struck him down and he crashed in Hinobori Academy, where he gave Class 5-3 of that school the ability to operate Raijin-Oh, after which they became the Earth Defense Class.
Energetic Explosion Ganbaruger
After Kotarō's father accidentally rips apart the seal on the Demon King Gokuaku of the Great Demon World, Eldran returns to seal him back in, but not before Gokuaku manages to send out his servant Yaminorius to help him in the task of taking over the Earth, and to break the seal and revive his master. Knowing this, Eldran entrusts the giant robot Ganbaruger to three children (including Kotarō) to use for the defense of the Earth against the Great Demon World. The children then become the Ganba Team, but due to the curse Yaminorius cast on them after their first battle, they would turn into dogs once their identity is revealed, so from then on they must live as secret heroes until the Great Demon World is defeated.
Hot-Blooded Strongest Go-Saurer
64 million years prior to the time period of the series, Eldran is fending off an invasion attempt by the Mechanization Empire, which is also attacking in the present. To defend both time periods at once, Eldran entrusts Go-Saurer to the kids of class 6-2 in Harukaze Elementary School, who then become the Saurers and take up the battle against the Mechanization Empire's efforts to mechanize the Earth like they did with all the other planets of the Solar System.
Trivia
Being the common figure in all 3 entries of the eponymous Eldran series, he appears throughout all of them. The only other two characters to do so are Defense Force secretary General Takeda and the newscaster Etsuko Ōmiya.
As the entries go on, his role in each of them increases. In Raijin-Oh he didn't make an appearance beyond the first episode, while in Ganbaruger he appeared after the first to help the team occasionally. Go-Saurer is the series in which he is by far the most involved, from the beginning till the end and helping the kids in their final battle.
